Google Cloud has announced earlier this month the availability of its second cloud region for Canada. The new cloud region of Toronto adds to the existing Montreal region to expand Google Cloud’s service in the country.
You can check the global region map on Google Cloud website to learn more about Google Cloud global infrastructure.
Now that Google Cloud has a presence in the two most populous provinces in Canada, we hope to see a new region launched for the Western provinces sooner rather than later. Vancouver, BC maybe?
The new Toronto region has been launched with 3 availability zones and while only a limited number of services are currently available there, we should see other services being launched there as well in months to come.
Do you think the addition of the new cloud region in Toronto is a game changer when it comes to the cloud battle for the Canadian market? Let me know in the comments.
